this wasnt one was it 

smelled like a confessional

                                            and as a kid Holy Communion he recoiled from the act of confession

                         he didnt feel it was sacred

he listened in for kicks on the familys telephone  their party line  and all he ever heard was gossip  if it wasnt why didnt they quit their yakking on the line and go directly to the people who they were talking about and settle their concerns
or gripes 

               quit talking behind their backs

and if God was omniscient  omnipresent  as He was painted to be by the nuns who were always lifting the heavy load occasionally Father  occasionally he strolled through class to see how His children were progressing   

                                                     If   then God would know his business  wouldnt He

                     why would he address the priest
Father wasnt Gods ear

No    no matter what they were trying to sell
