actually not moments earlier he herded a big black fly out of the laundry up the hall it went left into the kitchen

entering behind it he poppedopen an unscreened window doubledback to the doorway right of the fridge

when it tried to leave the kitchen he stood his groundwaving his hands like maladroit idiot

                                                                                                   the fly swervedcrossed the kitchen again a window there buzzed the range doubledback

                                                                                       shuffling past the fridge

he waved madly

                   the fly swerved rightbugged towards the window banged against the glass several times made him wonder if seeing the outdoors it was confused by the clear glass stepping towards the window waving only his lefthand the fly sprungoff the glass bolted left through the open window he immediatelyclosed it 

 

    normal  he thought so

                                     has evicted better than a dozen flies this summer had quit counting
