Seven O five mourn a fly 

                                            who mourns a fly 

he did   briefly

hed seen it last night on the floor in the corner by the cupboard where he kept Pyrex and CorningWare casseroles

a black spot

walking over to it october and shy hot on his heels it shivered  he thought it a spiderhe was allabout spiders

not wanting the cats to eat it he reversed fieldbacked away they stepped with him turned around at the lightswitch flipped it Off and exited the kitchen

this morning he was surprised to see the spot on the floor

he walkedup on it stooped realised it was a fly 

picking it up he placed it in his palm and took it outside  

                                                           it wasnt a house fly 

he set it down in the sun in the flower bed

returned it to nature to where it was conceived

not a praying man he simply said over its tiny body 

                                                       Fare thee well
