I might say 

                 I was frightened by those dreams

but more accurately

 I was concerned 

                  concerned   because they were only dreams

 

daydreams came with choice excuses that I was not responsible or accountable for

so I adopted the attitude to simply enjoy dreams 

I hadnt met anyone imprisoned for them                                             

                                              or had I
