he caught the flying shadowfigured a scrubjay flash before him on the asphalt

he didnt hear it alit  usually on the weathered plankfence or heard the tink tinktink tink of its nails on the Quonset carport storage behind him
ROBERT he called
it was day three he hadnt shown Robert was the most feral cat hed ever known but he decided on an offchance he showed hed place kibble on a saucer he left out for him

no sooner had he stoodgone up two steps to the porch where bigfoot and wee patiently waited their food he heard a scuttleflurry behind him
the scrubjay that passed overhead
it was at Roberts plate helping itself not waiting to be recognised he scattered kibble for scrubjays they all looked alike to him like whites to Asians whites to Blacks whites to Mexicans he couldnt distinguish if he was feeding one or two or twenty   figured word was out

smiling he muttered Sheesh-kabob a new fastbecoming favorite figure of speech limp raw sheeshes skewered like meats at a Mongolian barbecue
Man tha wasnt five seconds some set of balls set of ovaries  I don know
made him laugh

he laughed too hardtoo loud the jay boundback a step then flew off to the fence over its left shoulder
made him wonder if birds were leftwinged or rightwinged
HERE
before tending to bigfoot and wee he tossed a mittful of kibble onto the drive

it leapt from the fence to the blacktop between scattered feed eyeballed left then right left right another question begging then took wingsped back to Roberts plate which allowed maximum opportunity with least effort
                                                                                                   efficient  birds aint dumb
people are who think other earthlings are
