doldrums  defined: a state or period of inactivity, stagnation, or depression

it is easy to submitbecome depressed if one isnt tossedin the tumult of a work day

   tick tick tick he heard  an antique clock a beloved uncle insisted he have when he died  may sound to others like revolver hammers pulled reluctantlyback or caps of Child-proof medication stubbornlyturned to overdose

                                                                                                               dark days 

seemingly no recourse seemingly unsubmitting 

                                                 theyre unable to see beyond themthrough Winter  into Springs green an growth despite its yearly revival

   Hope 

          pruned incorrectlybuds negated by trembling fingers hands  preoccupiedminds

approaching winter
