he learned to defend himself and win  and then the challenges became fewer and fewer

because those who opposed him didnt like getting beat up                                                                  

some think its a dog-eat-dog world

he preferred equality

the long string of wins he enjoyed were wins he had convincing them  dog by dog

Ah it was asif the street hadnt changed in his absence which was impossible though he liked that he imagined it hadnt
