hibernation
when MankindeManunkinde attains hibernation  will we in its embraceits frostywhip dream

dream perhaps of scaly red seas throwing sunlight off it like spasmsshards off a lazyturning mirrorball
of intemperate iguanas trapped  bagged and dragged on our backs through the waves  eventual provisions  eaten after theyve mated their young born
of painfullythin albinos who believe they are uniquely feral  to be feared  shrillinggnashing their pointy teeth when suspecting theyve been insulted  but when ones reason is treated as an insult only a heavy fist will shut them up their teeth breaking like porcelain dancingspiraling in the blue air like the whitewhiskers of dandelions

to hibernate

to sleep

to dream

if Deaths second self is sleep induced hibernation chronic sleep  cant be unalike

he believed deep in his bones that death was a state of non-existence its non-consciousness a holding pattern filled with dreaming
it was the only faith he held

if it turned out not to be so
hed never know
