The Ways of Seeing 

                          a book by art critic John Berger who writes of the European nude – a woman of course – a convention revolving around men and their fantasies of Power  men are the unseen spectators  everything is addressed to them  everything is the result of them being there  the objectthe female nude  object of desire  does not confront the viewer with a will of her own  rather she is a mirror enlarging and reflecting the viewer back to himself

thats one way of seeing thingseh

frankly he couldnt imagine being interested in a woman who hadnt a will of her own who couldnt stand toe to toe against him or who wouldnt stand back to back with him against all comers to sought to diminish them
