reality whips dreams or dreams reality

dance with that for a bit

had read in Red Scare by Clay Risen that the private secretary to Britains Lord Inverchapel handed Dean Acheson President Trumans undersecretary of state an envelope explaining that the message therein “a blue piece of paper” diplomat-speak a message of utmost urgency and confidentiality meant for Secretary of State George Marshall

Acheson realised the communique was to advise Marshall that Greece was about to fall to Soviet-backed Communists the British were not going to stop them

    “a blue piece of paper”
was dreaming of a wife of a friend  Susanne  an S not a Z she said when introducing herself  she offered to help him look for a blue file folder he absently misplaced somewhere in the house

within were pages of a manuscript and several letters he needed to conclude and sendthey were long overdue

    a blue file folder

when he woke they did not find it
he immediately went to his studio and eventually found  slipped down between top-spiraled sketch books tall art books an Atlas  the folder
and indeed
inside it was an abandoned story waiting for it to gel and two letters  one in a sealedstamped envelope the second unsealed  the last sentence  . . . people are arriving, celebrating Halloween, have had three White Russians, can’t buy a drink, my Dude impersonation, Big Lebowski, worth growing my hair long, growing the itchy goatee.
