a wile   was a strange thing to wake from

                                              stomped his eyes

he rubbed them with the sheet

odd matter crumbled

did as if it was a wile 

                          or a while or  awhile  noun adverb  unspecified amount of time

or briefly a short period of time

he ran awhile

    his body interrupted him Better get up and take that piss

      maybe a wile a while awhile hadnt awakened him after all

   

lying back down he thought of herhe thought of her an awful lot

she had her wileswitches do  wildwiles

although when she deployed them he was aware

                                                      despite

bewitching him

she delighted him

but he wasnt stupid

                      had run intowas attracted to too many browneyed girls who knew what they had going for themselves

he watched guys fall for thatturn themselves insideout

in his vernacular

                   gents  pussywhipped

he only had to learn pussywhipped once like   jealousy

                                                             parked their asses in a Folgers coffee tin and buried them

in an unmarked grave

when he caught echoes of them

he couldnt be convinced

although

          he loved their varied ofttimes delicious efforts like watching a play hed read

she conceded he was beyond her kind  witchery

he thanked her and asked

                              Am I beyond your unkind witchery

she smiledher dimples deepened

                                     I suppose well have to see.  Time will tell.

in the meantime

they were having a helluva time
