WHY DID JESUS COME TO EARTH?

TO SAVE THE WORLD?

TO RULE THE WORLD?

TO CONQUER THE WORLD?

                           Whyd He come to his door then leave a pamphlet tucked in its screen

or a better question yet             

                     Why didnt He go down the street to where his racist neighbors lived and leave them a lil sumptinsumptin

Why would he know He didnt

because finding the pamphlet he hotfooted down the street to look and see

they didnt answer knocks at their front door 

no pamphlet

                                                                                             

they didnt answer the half dozen separate times he knocked to ask them why they were flying the Confederate flag on the street from the bed of their truck

cops said their truck constituted private property and they couldnt deprive them of their First Amendments Rights

Well Jay sus  he said  it seems that flying that flag in light of the recent murders of nine black parishioners in South Carolina is provocative

frankly intolerable

Arent you concerned for the publics safety

cops said they didnt see why there might be safety concerns

Hmmm  he said  I might be thick but I can imagine someone setting a flag like that on fire  And then perhaps the whole works going up in flames in the ensuing conflagration

Does anybody working there remember the Sixties  Sixty-eight  Watts  And untold other cities that were forced to play with fire  Burn Baby Burn

brightly  the cops asked if he was making a threat

No  he said  I remember is all

So what was with Jesus

a quick knock and adios

inside the folded pamphlet he read he was warmly invited to listen to a Bible discourse

some kind of suspenders to hold up dem pants

so again  why didnt He go down the street to where his Johnny Reb Ridiculous lived

the truck was there  on the street

the flag twisting lazily

                                    like his disturbed guts

he really didnt know what to make of that

maybe Christ was apolitical

He wasnt white

Aramaic and Galilee wasnt ever white

apparently in America he wore whiteface

thats who was staring him in the face beatifically when he opened the pamphlet

which made perfect business sense

he really didnt know what to make of that

Jesus harassing him

Ignorance harassing him

Harrassing(when he wanted to harass back) 

                                                                         aint conquering

then returning home he slipped the pamphlet into the recycle bin where it might eventually prove to be a good thing
