One day
shed like that
Mebbe two days
mebbe
Mebbe a whole lot of days in a
row
Weeks
without the sound or interruption of a human voice or presence
without the pleasantry or snarky
remarks
her whole being
sheltered
removed
alleviated
of intrusions
very few people recognise they
are intruding
probably because
sharing
communal spaces
it allows
them the assumption they have a right or
access to invade another persons sphere
unrecognised
stepping back
she could imagine as if in a Venn diagram the occasions where spheres merge
but
unlike a Venn
those intersections or bleedings can be insignificant inconsequential slices
the
bulk of their spheres remaining separate
and intact
being in a public room together
is not sufficient calculus to
intrude on another
its Rude(incorporated in intrude)
yet somehow the courtesies we assume were taught or
instructed are weak
they go out the window
and an intrusion --
seeking to be known to the other
-- apparently is too powerful or seductive to ignore
and if the one approached is
attractive that apparently begs the
obfuscation of common courtesy
but no one likes being ignored
and therefore where those slight Venn diagram slices intersect collide
for the sake of those the outside the one-in-a-million-chance shots
good manners are tossed aside
for its evident contrary thought
Nothing ventured Nothing gained
however
no adage should be blindly invoked
so she figured
If I cant garner the respect
Im due
Ill
pluck myself up out of any Venn diagram I find myself in and Go {{}}
