inevitably self-corrected and fashioned him to call them all periodicals

if fit between the slick glossy pages that stubbornly resisted his ink notations

there wasnt intriguing or knowledgeable text

then he hadnt any interest in spreading their leaves or petals

and deflowering them

 

for bunkered in the fattest bulks among them appeared those advertisements with depth

no deeper than freed fire hydrant water slipping across black reflecting bitumen and grit

although this afternoon he found Taschen Architectural Record and National Geographic

and  to be utterly fair  it was an hematologist oncologist and Medical Examiners office

a tad more highbrow than the usual dental office or womens clinic waitingroom

and while she was fascinated with food and recipes and fashion

she espied their advertisements rather for their foodstuff agriculture or styles colors and

fabrics  rather than

he was very fortunate

and never doubted his fortune for a nanosecond

she baked and cooked and sewed when the majority of those kind of women now 

belonged to the Ages

she was intelligent well-read and graced with a full-body

  

perhaps it was that she hadnt succumb growing-up or currently to the robust feminine 

consumer pedagogy because she was forced out of high school not much more than a 

year in

and had to manage her education through extension studies

she never enjoyed a high school dance prom or a football game

either deprived

or enhanced

and while either term could be wiggled or jiggled

she did not weigh-in

it was simple

what transpired was a-matter-of-fact

she conceded

she looked up from the magazine she was perusing and fixed him with a sidelong 

glance

shed been half-listening to him percolating
