in 1973 Robert Dixon with the
Office of Legal Counsel of the U S Department of Justice considered . . during the past century the duties of the
presidency, however, have become so onerous that a president may not be able
fully to discharge the power and duties of his office if he had to defend a
criminal prosecution.
for his remark – which should be
remembered was tendered in light of Dixons consideration of the indictment of Vice-President
Spiro Agnew – for his remark there is the belief (I believe mistaken) that a sitting
president cannot be indicted
“because his duties have become
so onerous”
Drumpf definitely sitting does not have onerous duties
as a matter of fact since the Democrats landslide
victory in the midterm elections last year 60% of his presidential schedule has
been given over to unstructured time
the remaining 40% of his
schedule therefore can be described as structured time and his structured time seems filled with MAGA
rallies and golf
Drumpf can be indicted he has ample time to defend himself
and the sooner the better for the health of the nation
