          was he a sucker for an hourglass 

particularly when seen from behind(breathtaking)

slap a fortunate face fresh-scrubbed on top the stack

auburn  brunette 

he might possibly entertain going on the prowl follow her scenthe might even catch a hint of Cupids wings aflutter
riled  above the sound of the coolswept air or catch the creak of his bow as he bent it

but if Cupid wasnt true

if he wasnt dead-on

his scarred ribs would deflect and throw his arrow 

hed end up nursing a flesh wound rather than trying to mend a broken heart

it was funny how he found all the pieces

but they didnt fit together again quite right

 

he heard Cupids twang and its echo more times than he could rightfully say

though while he could say he hit the mark three times he was of the distinct impression that either Cupid wasnt particular good with a bow and arrow or there wasnt anyone waiting in the wings to proceed him

. . . . . . or maybe all most people needed was a flesh wound a slight dig to sling them headlong onto the Merry-Go-Round

Around and round we go where we stop nobody knows*

stopping somewhere is better than nowhere

a warm bodys a warm body

itll do for now

it can do for awhile

or itll do until the next opportunity

Opportunity  it was an odd name for any man or a woman
