he was rummaging around on the internet and found a discontinued/defunct doctoral blog site called haecceity

haecceity  so very clean and delicious  written entirely in lowercase  meaning  --  prior he had no idea the word even existed  --  (philosophy) the property that uniquely identifies an object  Compare quiddity  (philosophy) the essential nature of something

and smack daub stick-a-finger-in-your-eye the author professes her fascination with Walter Benjamin and his concept of the flaneur

more appropriately  le flâneur
                                                French meaning stroller dawdler loiterer
said not to have an English (or American) equivalent

which probably means whomever denied an equivalent may have been trying hard to be polite or was perhaps afraid an American might be offended(a thin-skinned bunch their exceptional feeling easily bruised or Indispensable Nation status timorous) and bust them in nose with a bunched fist

Americans are the most violent Homo sapiens in the world(not to let the Latin  wise person  fool anyone)

they start wars rather than sit down and talk out problems

they sentence and execute inmates from among the largest penal system in the world

they shoot and kill children in grammar schools and colleges  families at movies houses  politicians on the stump

one might dare say
there isnt one rock not overturned or hidden crease exposed where Americans cant find victims cowering and shoot them to death for their obnoxious cowardliness

indeed  bloodthirsty Americans have gone so far as to accept their Peace officers bathed in the light of an Occupying Force(as they heard over the radio in Korea and witnessed on their black-and-white or colored televisions when Daddy got home for dinner during the Vietnam War then the Shock-and-Awe blitzkrieg(technologically Cool!) in Afghanistan Iraq and returned to Afghanistan again     and then some)

they have gone so far as to provide their Police cover to murder fellow citizens because the Police were in fear for their lives(on their say so) or assumed-violent citizens who defied their barked directives while those citizens deferred to their personal Conscience and accorded Constitutional Rights to resort to Civil Disobedience

    le flâneur
one might suggest its American equivalent    a voyeur

might  suggest

because to say so categorically could easily be enough to raise an American ire and be stomped to death by black spit-polished military or cowhide-scarred-by-barbedwire cowboys boots
(remember   thin-skinned hair-triggered and Gods on their side)

Use your words

one could see the little girl was enraged beyond using words

her mother could see it too but she was adamant and was deaf to anything other than words

evenly she said again
                                      Use your words

tears hung on her daughters long thick eyelashes  they kissed her cheeks

her lips formed a taut straight white line   bloodless

it appeared she was trying to out-adamant her mother

he remembered her mother  his daughter  trying to out-adamant him

his granddaughter was in for a cruel reckoning if she didnt offer words

his daughter  as he had  would send her off to her room to think about how she was acting
And dont dare touch a single toy or book while you sit on your bed thinking about what you want to say   he heard himself echo in his ears from long ago

tho she didnt voice her threat

it was coolly implied

probably a mother-daughter synch-up a father-daughter never-thought to be exercised

his daughter tossed her daughter one last lifesaver(she was a better woman than he)

Theres a theory sweetheart(it was unsettling that a three year knew what theory was)  that if we dont have the right words in our vocabulary(she got it!)  we cant even see things that are right in front of our faces

Can you image

And if we cant describe our reality accurately(bingo! nothing there his granddaughter didnt understand)  reveal ourselves precisely honey  then we cant see it

Not the other way around

unconsciously his jaw unhinged  swung open

he watched his stubborn granddaughter get up off the livingroom floor where she sat(her mothers doppelganger)
and walk into the hallway that lead back to her bedroom

Some theory

Im sure theres a commiserate linguistic theory  I havent had the time to dive into it tho  Im just relating to my hardheaded daughter a parcel from the book Im reading called The Water Knife

Ive been unable to shake its premise so Im inspired to make it hers too

Toss a exclamation point on it
You know where I got that

I do     I do
Words are valuable instruments

Yup  And no time like the present
