it was a pamphlet circulated by the United States Postal Service shortly after September 11
a cheap relic
he found recently secreted behind a poem written by Russian Yevgeny Yevtushenko that he
had sheathed in a plastic liner for protection
one could say it was his Constitution
No People are Uninteresting . . .
What
would make him suspicious -- nothing
-- he supposed he might count himself
fortunate -- the
Fear the Nation was intentionally steeped in
didnt
affect him
he absently put the pamphlet away
to remind him at a later date -- NOW
-- of the pervasive paranoia
stoked and conflagrated as a result of September 11 -- altering
what Americans had once believed was a consensus regarding the terms of Freedom
it altered
and was prevaricated by
a Government which unfortunately possessed the unique Timing
and keen ability
to strongarm its frightened People
and
threaten to garrote them with the twine of their own Constitution
which every man and woman serving in office had sworn to uphold
they were very unlike our
Founding Fathers who signing our radical Declaration
of Independence
who knew full well they were also signing a writ of Treason against the Crown of England
if the War for Independence was
lost
they had signed
their death sentences
Our Founding Fathers were
dramatically unlike
the aforementioned cocksucker Congressmen and cocksucker Senators
who quickly signed the AUMF Authorization for the Use of Military Force in September
(granting the President authority to
use all "necessary and appropriate force" against those whom he
determined "planned, authorized, committed or aided" the September
11th attacks, or who harbored said persons or groups)
they quickly signed the USA
PATRIOT Act Uniting and Strengthening
America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct
Terrorism Act in October
they did not act
reflectively
they acted Nationalistically
they acted
as if their knees where struck in unison by a physicians rubber mallet and
reflexively kicked in kind to a historical and familiar goose-step
if their War was Lost
they risked nothing
they risked nothing
their
signatures were in ink not blood
and
their signatory
was of Infamy and Disgust
many to-day still sit in the
Halls of Congress
and because of those inveterate
cocksucker Congressmen and cocksucker Senators
he was impassioned to write
this
it seemed to him their All-In
actions had set in motion the interminable and unfortunate
conditions that were
now prevailing in recent Ferguson Missouri Police actions
and as this parallel universe
continues to unfold before the Nations eyes
the Nations eyes he could only wish that were true
seemingly the horrors our military perpetrated against
other Nations are coming Home to roost
the inevitable botched Efforts
in Iraq and Afghanistan
were being given new legs (and new Arms) at Home in their Aftermath
repugnant Efforts which --
reasonable people agreed -- should have been communal Efforts
of shared
Intelligence Worldwide
seeking that Justice be served
and
in dire circumstances sparse military strikes
the actions by the Ferguson
Police force
acting
as a Military among the civilians they had sworn To Protect and Serve --
unless
that is now ultimately bastardized -- their
demand that the People forfeit their Constitutional Right of civil disobedience -- their
demand that the People cower before them
and if they do not there are rubber bullets sound cannons tear gas smoke
bombs truncheons shields arrests
and then the onslaught of a legal system that defers first and foremost
to its Officers
This -- as the
Police wag their Fortified tails behind them -- as so many other Police forces
have around
the country
enabled
by a Homeland Security
which should never have been created
fortified
by a Pentagon spoiling the Nations wealth
-- provided by the People --
against the People
it began shallowly little by little an incoming tide rising rising in his ears
he borrowed it from Hemingway
who borrowed from the Church a refuge
rife with
ungodly and motley characters who backsides are wholly protected by the
façade of an
imposing demagoguery that sees and holds itself virtually unimpeachable
nice
work if you can find it he supposed

him that he should find this pamphlet now
